Overview
Interior waterproofing manages the water that is already getting in. Here that usually means the cove joint, where the floor meets the wall, and water pushed up under the slab when heavy clay and a high water table stay saturated after a long rain.
The heart of it is interior drain tile — an interior French drain. The floor edge is cut along the inside perimeter, a trench is dug, washed stone and perforated pipe go in with the right pitch to a sump pit and pump, and the floor is patched. A vapor barrier on the walls carries wall seepage down into the drain, and leaking wall cracks are injected from the inside.
Because the work is all done from inside, there is no excavating the yard, landscaping or driveway, and most systems go in over one to three days. Every job starts with a free inspection and a written scope, and is backed by our 20-year fully transferable warranty.
When interior waterproofing is the right fix
- Water seeps in along the floor-to-wall joint or comes up through the floor
- It shows up days after the rain stops — groundwater pressure under the slab rather than surface water
- The house sits on clay with a high water table, as much of Macomb County does
- Digging outside is not practical or wanted — a driveway or landscaping right against the wall
- You want the less disruptive, generally less expensive of the two approaches
Signs you need interior waterproofing
- Water seeping in along the basement floor-to-wall joint
- Hydrostatic pressure pushing water through the floor
- Standing water after heavy rain or snowmelt
- Damp walls with efflorescence (white mineral deposits)
- Existing drain tile that is clogged or failing
- A sump that runs constantly every spring
How the job goes
Free Inspection
We find where water is entering your basement and whether an interior system — or exterior work, or both — is the right fix.
System Design
We lay out the drain to collect the water where it comes in: pipe routing, stone, the sump pit and pump, and a wall barrier where the walls seep.
Installation
We cut the floor along the perimeter, dig the trench, lay washed stone and perforated pipe pitched to the sump, and patch the concrete.
Testing & Warranty
We test the system for flow, clean up, walk you through it and provide your 20-year fully transferable warranty documentation.
What you get
- No exterior excavation — yard, landscaping and driveway left alone
- Handles groundwater and hydrostatic pressure under the slab
- Works with a sump pump, with battery backup for power outages
- Most systems installed in one to three days
- Backed by our 20-year fully transferable warranty
